My Evening Skincare Routine

If there is one love more than makeup it's skincare. Nothing beats the feeling pampering your skin after a long day or finding a product that does wonders for your skin. My skin has been behaving considering the change in weather and I think it's down to my current routine.

Drugstore Gems

As much as I love a good high end product but you can’t beat the feeling when you find a great drugstore product! My makeup collection is full of drugstore gems and I thought I’d make a little series on my favourites.

Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer -  Are you surprised? I adore this concealer, I’ve gone through tubes and tubes of this. It has a thick/creamy consistency that covers anything from blemishes to under eye circles. The lasting power is great, it only really fades if I touch my face throughout the day. Another bonus is that it matches my ghostly complexion!

Rimmel Scandaleyes Shadow Sticks By Kate - I love eye shadow sticks, they perfect to use when I’m in a rush. The ones from Rimmel are some of my favourite from the drugstore. They are creamy, long lasting and have a huge section of colours. The shade in the photo is ‘Rose Gold’ from the Kate collection.

Maybelline Colour Tattoo Leather - I love the normal colour tattoos, but I find myself using the Colour Tattoo Leather in Creamy Beige almost every day. Just like the normal Colour Tattoos, they are really pigmented, creamy, long wearing and perfect to use in a rush. I love that its matte as well which makes it perfect to use as a base for other eyeshadows.

Soap & Glory Supercat Eyeliner - If you are looking for a great liquid eyeliner from the drugstore. I find it easy to use as it has a firm, felt tip nib. It’s jet black and stays jet black all day, it glides on smoothly and lasts all day. I think it’s my HG eyeliner.

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream - Finally NYX is available in the UK! One of the first things I got was Soft Matte Lip Creams as I’ve heard so much hype over them. I was not disappointed, I got the shade ‘Antwarp’. Although it’s matte, it has a mousey texture and it glides on so smoothly. It doesn’t dry out my lips or highlight any dry patches and lasts a long time on my lips. I’d highly recommend you try these out if you haven’t already!

Rimmel Exaggerate Lip Liner - Most lip liners I’ve tired are always impossible and too hard in texture to use. But the Rimmel lip liner has a nice creamy and soft texture making it so easy to apply and shape my lips to how I like them. I have the shade ‘Eastend Snob’ and it perfect to wear on its own or to pair with pinky tone lipsticks.

What are your favourite products from the drugstore?

One Heck Of A Blot Primer

Finding a good quality high street primer is near to impossible. When it comes to primers, high end brands just do it so much better. I can give a long list of hyped about primers that are high end but when it comes to high street primers, my mind goes blank.

Recently Soap & Glory added two new products to their ‘One Heck Of A Blot’ range, a foundation and a primer. I already adore the ‘One Heck Of A Blot powder so I thought I’d give the One Heck Of A Blot Primer a try as I’m always looking for good’n.

The primer claims to control shine for 12 hours, shrink your pores and give your skin a mattifying finish, even out skin tone, reduce redness and make your make up last longer. A lot of claims I know. Naturally as normal/dry skin gal, I wasn’t sure if it would be suitable for me.

With all this in my mind, I was pretty sceptical but when I applied it to my face I was pleasantly surprised. It didn’t have that silicone/greasy feel instead it felt smooth and silky. When I touched my face after applying, my skin still felt like skin which I loved and my skin didn’t look dry or too matte. I found my foundation blended amazingly on top and I did notice that the pores on my nose didn’t look as noticeable.

One of its main ingredients is glycerin which is known to make any product you put on top of it stick and I’ve definitely noticed my foundation lasting longer than usual. As for reducing redness and evening out skin tone, I’ve personally not seen any difference but I don’t really expect that from any of my primers unless it’s tinted.

Overall I think this is a fantastic primer and doesn’t compare to any of the other primers I’ve tried from the high street. It’s great for all skin types – even sensitive skin as it is fragrance free. Soap and Glory, you’ve done it again.

What's your favourite primer?

The Perfect Nude Lipstick

Nude lipsticks has always been something I’ve stayed away from, mainly because I have the complexion of Snow White. I’m not kidding. I usually wear bold lipsticks or I don’t wear lipstick at all.

While in boots, I saw a new collection by Rimmel called the Lasting Finish By Kate Nude Collection. After having a swatch fest for longer than I’d like to admit, I eventually picked up the shade ‘45’.

Like the other Rimmel Lasting Finish lipsticks, it’s creamy, hydrating, pigmented and easy to apply. I found with this shade it’s quite sheer which I personally like. It has a creamy, slightly shiny finish but I like to matte with down with some powder; I find doing this also helps with the wear time. Although it’s a nude it has a beautiful rosy tone to it, which makes it more wearable and doesn’t give you concealer lips.

I’ve found myself just gravitating to this product as it’s so easy to throw on and it looks great with most looks I do. I’m definitely going to start looking for more nude lipsticks!

What’s your favourite nude lippie?

Some Of My Favourite Blogs

As it is Sunday, I thought it would nice to have more a laid back, chatty post. I follow a lot of blogs and I thought I'd share some of my favourite bloggers and blogs! (Apologies for the random photo).

Citron and Guavaberry – Vanessa is one of the first blogs I followed when I started blogging and I don’t regret it. Vanessa is one of those people I feel like I’d be good friends with because she is so funny, witty and just generally lovely. Aside from her great personality, the content and photography on her blog is amazing. I always get excited when I see a new post from her!

The Blushing Giraffe – Iqras blog is a recent discovery of mine. If you are beauty lover - like me - then Iqras blog is for you. She has so many in-depth reviews about so many great products; every time I see a post from her my wish list grows. She is generally so lovely and her blog is just so pleasant to read. Plus how cute is the giraffe illustration on her header?

Hanhabelle – Although I’m not a lifestyle blogger myself, Hanhs blog is just one of my favourites. I find her posts so interesting, I love sitting down with my breakfast and catching up on all her posts. Every time I read a post I feel inspired to start doing more lifestyle posts and just be more positive. Hanh seems so genuine too which makes me love her and her blog even more!

Forever September – Where do I even begin with Lucy? Firstly, she is one of the sweetest bloggers I’ve ever spoken to. I wish when I was 17 I was as passionate about my blog as she is. I love everything about her blog, her content and photography are incredible! Her blog has beauty and lifestyle posts (her Sunday Chatters being some of my favourites). I can’t say enough lovely things about Lucy, if you aren’t following her I recommend that you do!

Yet Another Makeup Blog – I’m sort of in love with Yige and her blog. Her blog is so minimalist and clean – which I love. I adore her photography, it’s awe-worthy! I enjoy every posts that she puts up as I really enjoy her writing style. I also love how clever her blog titles are. Not to mention that she is absolutely gorgeous! My favourite post from her is the CTRL+R’.

These are some of my all time favourite blogs! I think it's nice to spread the love around the blogging community and I know I personally love posts like these to find new blogs!

What blogs are you loving right now?

The Lush Haul

It may be to your surprise that I’ve never tired anything from Lush *gasp* - apart from the Popcorn lip scrub which I got about two or three years ago. I've never been a fan of baths but I wanted to try some of their bath and body products because I've heard great things about the products and company. So here is the rundown of everything got.

October Favourites

It’s favourites time! October has been a roller coast of a month for me so I’m excited now that it’s November! Beauty wise I haven’t got a lot of favourites because I’ve been using a lot of the same products – thanks to my beauty ban. Anyway, here’s the round up!

In October I’ve been non stop wearing Essie Maximillian Strasse Her. It’s a beautiful cool toned green/grey that is really flattering on my skin tone! I've done a post on this shade already if you want to read more about it!

As it is getting colder and I’ve also been epilating – post soon – it’s been really important for me to moisturise. My favourite is the Aloe Body Butter from The Body Shop. It’s thick, soothing, hydrating and best of all it doesn’t have an overpowering scent like other TBS Butters.

I’ve been trying to step up my brow game – as they are horrible – and to help me step it up is the Anastasia Beverly Hills Brown Wiz in Medium Brown. I usually stay away from pencils as they look too unnatural but, that’s not the case with this pencil. It’s natural looking, easy to use and the colour matches my brows perfectly. It also has a spoolie on the end which is always handy!

My go-to eyeshadow palette as of late is the Urban Decay Naked 2 Basics palette. I love and wear all the shades in this palette. They are all cool toned shadows, five of them are matte and one of them has a slight sheen to it. It goes without saying that the quality is amazing. It’s perfect for travelling too which is a huge plus for me!

Lush has also been a favourite of mine – but I’ll get more into that in my next post!

What have you been loving in October? Also what did you do for Halloween?
